A PASSION FOR FOOD & FISHING

To appreciate the story of Simply Fish, you'll want to know more about my passion for seafood. My love for fish grew at an early age. I'm a native Southern Californian, third-generation Japanese American who grew up in the "South Bay" and graduated from Gardena High in 1977.

At an early age my father taught me the techniques of catching, filleting, and fish preparation. I grew up fishing on the local fishing boats and embarked on many long range trips out of San Diego and Mexico.  I enjoyed visiting top seafood restaurants near me. I couldn't help but notice that something was missing. My dream was to take my passion for fishing, with respect for our oceans and sea life. Turn that into what's missing in restaurants.

I want to incorporate the most popular seafoods and transform that into a full service dining experience, where your servers are trained to pamper and spoil you, where the music that plays reminds you of your happiest memories. A design that makes you feel comfortable all in a ocean themed setting where you can walk on water.

Service in my restaurant is as important as the food. Quality proteins, portions and most importantly a value that cant be compared!

Simply Fish is that "2.0" restaurant from a fisherman's point of view. I offer all your traditional favorites such as Salmon, Swordfish, Halibut, Mahi Mahi, Fish & Chips and incorporate that with fine dining items like Lobster Tail, King Crab, Cioppino, Branzino, Chilean Sea Bass, Warm Sea Food Salad, Steamed Clams, Green Lip Mussels, Charred Octopus, Pasta and Angus Certified Steaks, not to mention the best Fish tacos in Costa Mesa.
